SYSTEM OF A DOWN To Tour Europe In 2020

SYSTEM OF A DOWN will play a number of European shows in 2020.

The band revealed its touring plans while announcing that it will perform at next year's Provinssi festival in Finland.

The wrote on Facebook: "We are excited to announce the first of many shows in Europe next year. First up is our return to Finland for the Provinssi festival in June."

The three-day event will take place June 25-27, with SYSTEM OF A DOWN scheduled to appear on June 25.

This year's Provinssi festival was attended by 73,000 visitors, down from the previous year's 76,000.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN has toured intermittently since ending its hiatus in 2011.

The band played a couple of U.S. live shows in May, including headlining slots at Columbus, Ohio's Sonic Temple festival and Chicago Open Air.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN has blamed "creative differences" for stalled attempts to record a follow-up to its "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" albums, which came out in 2005.

Last year, guitarist Daron Malakian publicly accused singer Serj Tankian of not wanting to record, with Tankian responding that creative and financial issues with Malakian led to the stalemate. In a message on Facebook, Tankian wrote that Malakian wanted to control SYSTEM's creative process, take more of the publishing money and be the only band member to speak to the press.

We are excited to announce the first of many shows in Europe next year. First up is our return to Finland for Provinssi in June. Tickets on sale now: provinssi.fi/liput.
